| Statement: |
| I wanted to explore the distortion in natural growth when a Scots Pine Tree was confined into a man made shape. The tree went from a sad state, buried in clay and finally destroyed by firing. In the process the tree broke the rigid lines of the container and left a permanent record of its existence echoing fossil imprints. I found this very satisfying. |
