| Statement: |
| Pure order is sterile, pure disorder is chaotic, a blend of the two gives life to the work. The Raku process is well suited to this philosophy. Neil Read works primarily at his studio in Clontarf, he controls the form and surface employing glazes, rollers, scrafito, erosion and sand blasting. The firing process contributes the element of uncertainty that gives the work its strong vitality. |
