By making closed forms, one of the main topics that arose was the interaction between solids and hollows within the context of container. By making the piece ‘Proving’ I am exploring both the containment of substance and the containment of space within a vessel. By creating a cylinder of space within a vessel containing a substance, there could be a challenge to the very essence of container, could substance leak out! Regarding the work ‘Coming out-Inside out’ inner space acts as a shelter for the concept of something growing within a vessel. In this work, the white pieces suggest how a sequence of events are put in motion, this connecting in a very real sense the outer space with inner space. |
