| Statement: |
Peter Meanley works with salt glaze and makes ranges of spouted pouring vessels and teapots. All vessels must pour and indeed the aspect of pouring is often an integral part of the pleasure of designing and thinking about the next idea to be made. Peter is an avid collector of objects, often domestic and sometimes historical which might have features to assist his thinking.
Peter’s kiln is 1 meter cube which is sited on a farm in the country and is fired approximately 6 times a year. He likes heavy orange peel and sometimes makes a particular feature of this.
Until recently Peter was a reader in the University of Ulster where he completed a D.Phil into salt glaze. His work is in a wide range of national and international collections and museums. |
